MetaQuotes has announced the beta testing of their new MetaTrader 5 client terminal, which is open to all Gallant FX traders. We encourage traders that test the new terminal to report bugs and also feel free to suggest features at the MQL4 community forum.

MetaTrader5 is the long awaited next generation of the hugely successful MetaTrader 4 trading platform which will offer several new indicators and scripts to enhance the trading experience. MT5 is not just an upgrade to MT4 as it has been completely rebuilt from scratch. 

Key advantages of MT5 include:

• Increased performance and working speed

• Improved chart-types, including 3 dimensional charting, 21 timeframes and over 70 analytical tools

• 5 order types and 4 execution modes available for trading

• Multi-Asset Class trading capabilities (forex, options, futures and stocks)

• Advanced built-in reports on all trading activities;

• MQL5 development environment with new IntellySence system and more advanced strategy tester (to be released in later versions).

In depth analysis is the most important contributor to successful trading and so in MetaTrader 5, more analytical tools are available including more chart types, 38 built-in indicators, 39 graphical objects and a large variety of MQL5 indicators, with capability to combine these tools to build indicators on indicators. Expert Advisors in MT5 MQL5 will allow for simple and efficient development of Expert Advisors, and custom indicators a byproduct of this will be increased speed of execution estimated at 4 to 20 time faster than MQL4. This will permit the development of more complex EAs, as the ability to process larger amounts of data with greater efficiency.

To become a Metatrader 5 tester, you can proceed to download the MT5 terminal, test it and testers are invited to publish bug reports and suggestions on the MQL4.community forum. Please note that during testing period the interface will only work with Forex. Testing is expected to be completed in roughly 6 months.
